Main Street is Breckenridge’s beating heart. There is so much to see, including Victorian architecture, boutique shops, and delightful cafes.

You can take the bus or park in one of the many public lots for a small fee, around $2.00 for three hours.

Once you park, you can walk from one end of Main Street to the other, taking in all the sights.

With snow-dusted rooftops and twinkling lights, it feels like stepping into a Hallmark movie. The shops range from quirky boutiques to cozy bookstores, and we never leave without grabbing a souvenir or two.

No trip to Breckenridge is complete without visiting Isak Heartstone, the famous wooden troll.

The Trollstigen Trail is an easy hike that’s just as magical for kids as it is for adults.

This giant troll is an Instagram-worthy gem and one of the unique attractions in Breckenridge.

The artist, Thomas Dambo, has ten troll exhibits on display across the United States, including one on Bainbridge Island, a small island off Seattle’s coast, and one in Bernheim Forest along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.

In winter, the trail can be icy in some places. To avoid slipping, wear hiking shoes or winter boots with good traction.

The troll is near Boreas Pass Road’s Stephen C. West Ice Arena bus stop.

Its location offers a great chance to explore the ice arena and the nearby historic High Line Railroad Park, an outdoor playground with a mining and railroad theme.

There are four places to see the Continental Divide near Breckenridge, Colorado. These unique spots mark the point where water flows to either the Pacific or Atlantic Oceans.

The most accessible place to reach the Continental Divide from Breckenridge’s Main Street is Hoosier Pass.

To reach Hoosier Pass, start by heading south on CO-9. Follow this scenic route for approximately 10 miles, passing through the beautiful Rocky Mountains landscapes.

Eventually, you’ll arrive at Hoosier Pass, which is about 11,542 feet high and offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

The drive itself is an experience showcasing Colorado’s natural beauty. The road is maintained, but you should be cautious, especially in the late fall or winter.

A trail leads to the sign denoting this significant geological feature and the opportunity to stand atop the continental divide.

For those who can’t make the trip to Hoosier Pass, you might opt for a stop at the Continental Divide Winery in Downtown Breckenridge instead. At 10,361 feet, this winery has the highest altitude in the world!
