Hi, I’m Michele Smisek, an avid traveler, a Texas teacher, and the writer behind He Works So I Travel. I am so glad you are here.

My love for travel started young, but like many, it took a backseat while raising a family. Once my kids left the nest, I finally had the freedom to return to the things I love, like exploring new places, planning unforgettable getaways, and yes, writing about it all.

While my husband, a dedicated Texas football coach, stayed busy on the field, I started He Works So I Travel to share my travel stories, tips, and inspiration with fellow travelers looking for their next escape. 

As a teacher traveling on every school break and long weekend, I’ve mastered the art of maximizing time off.
