I looked for a hotel that offered amenities such as an airport shuttle, cruise shuttle, and free breakfast. I’m also super picky about where I stay, so these hotels also have high cleaning standards.

What to Consider Before Setting Sail

If you are wondering if you really need to arrive a day or more before your cruise leaves, the answer is yes! Port Everglades is one of the busiest ports in the world, serving over four million passengers annually.

You will 100% want to arrive at least one day before your cruise sets sail. Relaxing in a cozy hotel before your cruise is important to help you feel calm and ready for your adventure.

There are eight terminals at the Port Everglades cruise port. Make sure you know which terminal you are cruising from. As of December 2023, the following terminals are assigned as below:

With the above-mentioned amenities, a fitness center, an EV charging station, and 24-hour front desk service, it is easy to stay in Fort Lauderdale on a budget.

The value and convenience can’t be beat at the Rodeway Inn & Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport and Cruise.

Hotels Near Fort Lauderdale Cruise Terminal

These hotels near the Port Everglades cruise terminal offer shuttle service for a small fee. Most require you to pre-arrange the service through the front desk or a third party. In some cases, these hotels are close enough to use Uber or Lyft at a very reasonable price.

Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port Convention Center

I stayed at the Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale on my first visit to Fort Lauderdale.

This hotel offers a welcoming atmosphere and comfortable, spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi. It’s close to the airport and within walking distance of restaurants and stores if you need to buy last-minute items.

A complimentary breakfast and a Grab and Go area for off-hours are served.

Hampton Inn Airport and Cruise

The Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport North Cruise in Fort Lauderdale is another convenient and comfortable hotel for Port Everglades cruise passengers.

The comfortable and modern rooms include complimentary Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs for guests to relax and chill before or after their cruise.

The hotel’s standout feature is its shuttle service to Port Everglades. Enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast to start the day, and take advantage of the outdoor pool for relaxation.

With its ideal location near the airport and cruise port, this hotel provides a nice stay for cruise-bound guests.

Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ft Lauderdale Airport/Cruise

Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites fits the bill for a safe and clean hotel near both the airport and Port Everglades.

While I wouldn’t choose this hotel for a vacation getaway in Fort Lauderdale, it does work perfectly for anyone needing a place to stay before or after a cruise.

This hotel offers a $15 shuttle to Port Everglades.

Crowne Plaza Hotel Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruiseport

The Crowne Plaza Hotel is a clean and modern hotel near the airport and Port Everglades.

This hotel offers a paid shuttle service to Port Everglades, but Uber is often cheaper.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale 17th Street

The Embassy Suites Fort Lauderdale is one of the closest cruise port hotels to the popular 17th Street area.

This is a more upscale hotel when compared to others on this list. Although I haven’t stayed here, a friend did and was very happy with this hotel.

Residence Inn By Marriott Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port

The comfortable Residence Inn in nearby Dania Beach has large, spacious rooms with plenty of space to stretch out and relax.

You can swim in the refreshing outdoor pool or break a sweat in the fully-equipped fitness center.

Regarding dining, the hotel has a free hot breakfast served daily. Plus, you can enjoy free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and a complimentary airport shuttle to make your stay even more convenient.

Other Fort Lauderdale Hotels to Consider

While these next hotels don’t have a free airport or cruise shuttle, they are other hotels that I have personally stayed at and would highly recommend. These hotels feel more like vacation hotels versus a place to sleep for a night. Both have fantastic locations for exploring Fort Lauderdale.
