Travel Resources
When I’m planning a trip, I like to have as many tools and travel resources at my disposal as possible.
I have some favorite products and websites that make planning travel easier, and I’d love to share them with you.
I know how hard it can be to plan a trip, especially if you’re not used to traveling. I want to make it easier for you!
These companies, products, and websites are the ones I personally use and love.
He Works So I Travel content may contain affiliate links for products I use and love. If you make a purchase after clicking one of these links, I’ll earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. For full details, please read my full affiliate disclosure here.
Travel credit cards
If you live in the U.S. and have room in your wallet for an extra credit card, I highly recommend signing up for the free Daily Drop newsletter. You will get updates on how to earn and redeem travel points.
Travel credit cards are a great way to earn free travel. One word of caution: if you carry debt on the card and pay a high-interest rate, that is going to cancel out the benefits you receive from the points. So, please only sign up for a travel credit card if you can responsibly manage your credit.
Book Flights
Skyscanner utilizes its advanced technology to scan multiple airline sites to help you find the most affordable and convenient options for your dates of travel.
Let’s say you want to go somewhere for spring break, but you want the best deal. You can enter the dates you want to fly, and type in “Everywhere” in the search bar as your destination.
Skyscanner presents you with the lowest prices to fly for multiple locations on your given dates.
And, the best part is the service is totally free to use.
Book accommodations
One site I use to get the best deals is Hotwire.
Hotwire is the best place to book last-minute travel since they partner with hotels to sell unused inventory.
You identify the location and amenities you want and Hotwire finds a match. Just remember, you won’t know which hotel you’ll stay at until after paying for your room.
Tripadvisor is a great travel resource to compare hotel prices, read reviews, and book tours.
Use it to find the best hotel deals from numerous sites and to read recent and honest hotel reviews from real travelers.
It’s one of my favorite travel sites.
Booking.com has many different types of accommodations available, from small apartments to luxury suites.
They also have some pretty interesting deals when it comes to booking multiple rooms at once.
Expedia
Expedia is another great resource for finding inexpensive hotels near your destination.
This site lets you see prices and availability from different hotels in one place so that you can easily compare them against each other before deciding where to stay.
book Rental Cars
Looking for the perfect rental car for your next adventure? Discover Cars is here to assist you! Similar to Skyscanner, the website efficiently searches multiple car rental sites, guaranteeing you the best deals and options.
Additionally, another fantastic option for finding last-minute rental car deals is Hotwire, where you can save up to 60% on rental cars. I recently booked a luxury car for 5 days in California for $300 including all taxes and fees.
Book Tours
Planning ahead is the best way to make the most of your time when you’re on a trip.
The internet has made it really easy to find out what’s available in any given location, and this is one of my favorite ways to make sure I get the most out of my vacations.
I’ve created this list of recommendations of travel resources for tour companies and places to get the best deals on things to do and activities. I hope it helps you plan your next vacation.
Viator
Viator is the world’s largest marketplace for tours and activities. They offer 24/7 customer support and have a great feature where you can “reserve now and pay later.”
They also offer the lowest price guarantee, so you can be sure that your trip will cost less than anywhere else.
Get Your Guide
Get Your Guide is a platform that connects travelers to incredible travel experiences.
You can skip the line at some of the world’s most iconic attractions or take immersive food tours that allow you to experience different cultures like never before.
They also offer bucket list experiences that will make your trip unforgettable.
Groupon
The same site that saves you money on oil changes and restaurants can also save you money on travel.
Groupon often has coupons and attraction discounts through the app or online, and they have a huge selection of destinations.
Big Bus Tours
The Big Bus Tours is the largest operator of open-top sightseeing bus tours in over 20 cities in four countries.
These tours are a great way to learn about a city, allowing you to see as much of your destination as possible with minimal effort.
You can simply sit back and enjoy the ride!
